Against Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABBCCDEEFGGHH

Hence Cupid with your cheating toysA
Your real griefs and painted joysA
Your pleasure which itself destroysA
Lovers like men in fevers burn and raveB
And only what will injure them do craveB
Men's weakness makes love so severeC
They give him power by their fearC
And make the shackles which they wearD
Who to another does his heart submitE
Makes his own idol and then worships itE
Him whose heart is all his ownF
Peace and liberty does crownG
He apprehends no killing frownG
He feels no raptures which are joys diseasedH
And is not much transported but still pleasedH
