Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKAK LMKM NOPQ RSTS UVWV

When we went out with GrandmammaA
Mamma said for a treatB
Oh dear how stiff we had to walkC
As we went down the streetB
-
One on each side we had to goD
And never laugh or lollE
I carried Prim her Spaniard dogF
And Tom her parasolE
-
-
If I looked right if Tom looked leftG
Tom Susan I'm ashamedH
And little Prim I'm sure is shockedI
To hear such naughties namedH
-
She said we had no mannersJ
If we ever talked or sungK
You should have seen said GrandmammaA
Me walk when I was youngK
-
She told us oh so oftenL
How little girls and boysM
In the good days when she was youngK
Never made any noiseM
-
She said they never wished thenN
To play oh indeedO
They learnt to sew and needleworkP
Or else to write and readQ
-
She said her mother never letR
Her speak a word at mealsS
But now said Grandmamma you'd thinkT
That children's tongues had wheelsS
-
So fast they go clack clack clack clackU
Now listen well I prayV
And let me see you both improveW
From what I've said to dayV
