To The Sun Door Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHAH EIJI

They saw it rise in the morningA
They saw it set at nightB
And they longed to go and see itC
Ah if they only mightB
-
The little soft white clouds heard themD
And stepped from out of the blueE
And each laid a little child softlyF
Upon its bosom of dewE
-
And they carried them higher and higherG
And they nothing knew any moreH
Until they were standing waitingA
In front of the round gold doorH
-
And they knocked and called and entreatedE
Whoever should be withinI
But all to no purpose for no oneJ
Would hearken to let them inI
