A brother when the fight was o'erB
The hand that led the host with mightA
The blessed torch of learning boreC

No shriek of shells nor roll of drumsD
No challenge fierce resounding farE
When reconciling Wisdom comesD
To heal the cruel wounds of warC

Thought may the minds of men divideF
Love makes the heart of nations oneG
And so the soldier grave besideF
