Come all ye friends and citizensA
Where ever you may beB
Come listen to a few kind wordsC
A friend will say to theeB
Although going to speak to youD
I mean you all no harmE
Tho' I wish you'd join the armyB
Of the temperance reformF
-
Come join the glorious armyB
Of the temperance reformF
And every man that joins the ranksG
Will find it is no harmE
To wear Red Ribbon on his breastH
To show to this rare worldI
There is one that joined the armyB
And his colors has unfurledI
-
Come all men in our nationJ
Come join this happy bandK
And make your homes an edenJ
Throughout our happy landK
Your homes will then be happyB
Your friends will all be kindL
And in the domestic circleM
True happiness will findL
-
Ah from this temperance armyB
Your feet shall never strayN
Your mind will then be balmyB
If you keep the shining wayN
Your paths are strewn with flowersO
And your homes are rosy lightP
And God will watch the hoursO
For He's ever on the rightP
-
Come all ye merry happy ladsQ
And listen to my rhymeR
Don't be afraid to join the pledgeS
And let be the cursed wineT
Ah lay the flowing bowl asideU
And pass saloons if you canV
And let the people see that youD
Can be a sober manV
-
Go join the temperance armyB
And battle for the rightP
And fight against the enemyB
With all your main and mightP
For it is a glorious armyB
This temperance reformF
And the badge Red RibbonJ
Will do you all no harmE
