Air Roll on Silver MoonA
-
-
Roll on time roll on as it always has doneB
Since the time this world first begunB
It can never change my love that I gave a dear manC
Faithful friend I gave my heart and handD
-
CHORUSE
-
Roll on time roll on it can never turn backF
To the time of my maiden daysG
To the time of my youth it can never turn backF
When I wandered with my love bright and gayH
-
I was happy then as a girl could ever beI
And live on this earth here belowJ
I was happy as a lark and as busy as a beeI
For in fashion or in style I did not goJ
-
My parents were poor and they could not dress me soJ
For they had not got the money to spareK
And it may be better so for I do not think fine clothesL
Make a person any better than they areM
-
Some people are getting so they think a poor girlN
Though she be bright and intelligent and gayH
She must have nice clothes or she is nothing in this worldO
If she is not dressed in style every dayH
-
Remember never to judge people by their clothesL
For our brave noble Washington saidP
Honorable are rags if a true heart they encloseQ
And I found it was the truth when I marriedR
