This prison was a horrid place | G |
Many brave boys died there | H |
In rags and filth and wretchedness | G |
They died for want of care | H |
Many a brave and noble man | I |
As he lay sick and sore | J |
Was thinking of his friends and home | K |
He never would see more | J |

Fathers brothers young husbands dear | L |
Went through that prison door | J |
Some lived to return home we hear | M |
And others are no more | J |
Many a noble soldier died | N |
In Libby prison cell | O |
And comrades perish'd side by side | N |
As many a man can tell | O |
