Grand Rapids Cricket Club Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJDHD BGKGLMNM OBPBBQRQ

In Grand Rapids is a handsome clubA
Of men that cricket playB
As fine a set of skillful menC
That can their skill displayB
They are the champions of the WestD
They think they are quite fineE
They've won a hundred honors wellF
It is their most cunning designE
-
Brave Kelso he's considered greatG
Chief of the club he is foundH
Great crowds he draws to see him bowlI
The ball upon the groundH
And Mr Follet is very braveJ
A lighter player than the restD
He got struck severe at the fair groundH
For which he took a restD
-
When Mr Dennis does well playB
His courage is full greatG
And accidents to him occurK
But not much though of lateG
This ball play is a dangerous gameL
Brave knights to play it thoughM
Those boys would be the nation's prideN
If they to war would goM
-
From Milwaukee their club did comeO
With thoughts of skill at playB
But beat they was and then went homeP
Had nothing more to sayB
Grand Rapids club that cricket playB
Will soon be known afarQ
Much prouder do the members standR
Like many a noble starQ
