Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFG HIAIJKLK MANAOPNP HQRSNTUU VAHAWXYR

Hail the coming holidayA
With a hearty joyous feastB
And drive away sorrow friendsC
For a day or two at leastB
Lay all business cares asideD
And make the world resoundE
With music and festivalsF
Throughout our merry townG
-
May every person in our landH
A voice to heaven raiseI
And welcome in Christ's birthdayA
With everlasting praiseI
Praise Him who died upon the crossJ
Our sinning souls to saveK
The great Redeemer Christ our lordL
That dwells beyond the graveK
-
We should meet in reverenceM
And God's commands obeyA
And make each other happyN
Throughout the holidayA
And not forget the orphansO
The aged or the blindP
The rich the poor and needyN
To each one pray be kindP
-
May every parent in the landH
Hail Christmas day with joyQ
And not forget a present forR
Their little girls and boysS
They are looking forth anxiouslyN
For Santa Claus to comeT
And fill their little stockingsU
With toys and sugar plumbsU
-
God grant a merry Christmas eveV
And happy Christmas dayA
To every person in the landH
At home or far awayA
That festive day will soon be hereW
Alas will soon be o'erX
Welcome welcome the coming ofY
Christmas day once moreR
