The Enchanted Sheepfold Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JCKC LMNM

The hills far off were blue blueA
The hills at hand were brownB
And all the herd bells called to meC
As I came by the downB
-
The briars turned to roses rosesD
Ever we stayed to pullE
A white little rose and a red little roseF
And a lock of silver woolE
-
Nobody heeded none noneG
And when True Love came byH
They thought him naught but the shepherd boyI
Nobody knew but IH
-
The trees were feathered like birds birdsJ
Birds were in every treeC
Yet nobody heeded nobody heardK
Nobody knew save meC
-
And he is fairer than all allL
How could a heart go wrongM
For his eyes I knew and his knew mineN
Like an old old songM
