Why? Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGF HEIE

The little child crosses the streetA
Why does she wave to meB
What sees she in my wasted formC
To hail so joyouslyD
-
Her olive face and curly hairE
Are tidings of earth peaceF
Her golden smile's a wreath of joyG
That bids my sorrows ceaseF
-
To me she is a fairy spriteH
A heavenly harbringerE
Whose sun kissed eyes are songs of GodI
But what am I to herE
