Theodore Roosevelt Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDCECEFF

Now with the dust that bore him he is oneA
Silent into into earth's silent maw ye laid himB
Dimmed is his light as with the setting sunA
He folds his steps unto the God who made himB
When shall the weak stand and rejoice againC
To see his banner in the battle's lightD
When shall the humble hear his voice againC
Raised from the mountain of majestic rightD
O ye shall see that banner gleam againC
High o'er the ramparts of a nation's goalE
O ye shall hear that voice redeem againC
The blood stained conscience of a nation's soulE
Rise ye that tremble 'mid such fearful moanF
He stands annointed at Jehovah's throneF
