Compensation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD AEAE FGFG

I plucked a rose from out a bower fairA
That overhung my garden seatB
And wondered I if e'er before bloomed thereA
A rose so sweetB
-
Enwrapt in beauty I scarce felt the thornC
That pricked me as I pulled the budD
Till I beheld the rose that summer mornC
Stained with my bloodD
-
I sang a song that thrilled the evening airA
With beauty somewhat kin to loveE
And all men know that lyric song so rareA
Came from aboveE
-
And men rejoice to hear the golden strainF
But no man knew the price I paidG
Nor cared that out of my soul'd deathless painF
The song was madeG
