Africa Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDEDFF

A thousand years of darkness in her faceA
She turns at last from out the centurys' blightB
Of labored moan and dull oppression's mightB
To slowly mount the rugged path and traceA
Her measured step unto her ancient placeA
And upward ever upward towards the lightB
She strains seeing afar the day when rightB
Shall rule the world and justice leaven the raceA
-
Now bare her swarthy arm and firm her swordC
She stands where Universal Freedom bleedsD
And slays in holy wrath to save the wordE
Of nations and their puny boasting creedsD
Sear with the truth O God each doubting heartF
Of mankind's need and Afric's gloried partF
