Hope Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGI JKJK

See through yon cloud that rolls in wrathA
One little star benignant peepB
To light along their trackless pathA
The wanderers of the stormy deepB
-
And thus oh Hope thy lovely formC
In sorrow's gloomy night shall beD
The sun that looks through cloud and stormC
Upon a dark and moonless seaD
-
When heaven is all serene and fairE
Full many a brighter gem we meetF
'Tis when the tempest hovers thereE
Thy beam is most divinely sweetF
-
The rainbow when the sun declinesG
Like faithless friend will disappearH
Thy light dear star more brightly shinesG
When all is wail and weeping hereI
-
And though Aurora's stealing beamJ
May wake a morning of delightK
'Tis only thy consoling beamJ
Will smile amid affliction's nightK
