This Heritage To The Race Of Kings Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDEC FGGF HIJK

This heritage to the race of kingsA
Their children and their children's seedB
Have wrought their prophecies in deedB
Of terrible and splendid thingsA
-
The hands that fought the hearts that brokeC
In old immortal tragediesD
These have not failed beneath the skiesE
Their children's heads refuse the yokeC
-
And still their hands shall guard the sodF
That holds their father's funeral urnG
Still shall their hearts volcanic burnG
With anger of the sons of GodF
-
No alien sword shall earn as wageH
The entail of their blood and tearsI
No shameful price for peaceful yearsJ
Shall ever part this heritageK
