The Spark Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAB CDCCDEFEEF GHGGH IJIIJ KLKKK MNMMN

Because I used to shunA
Death and the mouth of hellB
And count my battles wonA
If I should see the sunA
The blood and smoke dispelB
-
Because I used to prayC
That living I might seeD
The dawning light of dayC
Set me upon my wayC
And from my fetters freeD
Because I used to seekE
Your answer to my prayerF
And that your soul should speakE
For strengthening of the weakE
To struggle with despairF
-
Now I have seen my shameG
That I should thus denyH
My soul's divinest flameG
Now shall I shout your nameG
Now shall I seek to dieH
-
By any hands but theseI
In battle or in floodJ
On any lands or seasI
No more shall I spare easeI
No more shall I spare bloodJ
-
When I have need to fightK
For heaven or for your heartL
Against the powers of lightK
Or darkness I shall smiteK
Until their might departK
-
Because I know the sparkM
Of God has no eclipseN
Now Death and I embarkM
And sail into the darkM
With laughter on our lipsN
