Rhyme Scheme: A A B B C C D D E F B B G G A A H H C D B C C C C C D D I I B B

There is a meadow in SwedenA
-
where I lie smittenA
-
eyes stained with clouds'B
-
white ins and outsB
-
-
And about that meadowC
-
roams my widowC
-
plaiting a cloverD
-
wreath for her loverD
-
-
I took her in marriageE
-
in a granite parishF
-
The snow lent her whitenessB
-
a pine was a witnessB
-
-
She'd swim in the ovalG
-
lake whose opalG
-
mirror framed by brackenA
-
felt happy brokenA
-
-
And at night the stubbornH
-
sun of her auburnH
-
hair shone from my pillowC
-
at post and pillarD
-
-
Now in the distanceB
-
I hear her descantC
-
She sings Blue SwallowC
-
but I can't followC
-
-
The evening shadowC
-
robs the meadowC
-
of width and colorD
-
It's getting colderD
-
-
As I lie dyingI
-
here I'm eyeingI
-
stars Here's VenusB
-
no one between usB
