Stone Villages Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJKK

The stone built villages of EnglandA
A cathedral bottled in a pub windowB
Cows dispersed across fieldsC
Monuments to kingsD
-
A man in a moth eaten suitE
sees a train off heading like everything here for the seaF
smiles at his daughter leaving for the EastG
A whistle blowsH
-
And the endless sky over the tilesI
grows bluer as swelling birdsong fillsJ
And the clearer the song is heardK
the smaller the birdK
