Seven Strophes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCA DEFG HIJK LMML NBON PQRP PPPP

I was but what you'd brushA
with your palm what your leaningB
brow would hunch to in evening'sC
raven black hushA
-
I was but what your gazeD
in that dark could distinguishE
a dim shape to begin withF
later features a faceG
-
It was you on my rightH
on my left with your heatedI
sighs who molded my helixJ
whispering at my sideK
-
It was you by that blackL
window's trembling tulle patternM
who laid in my raw cavernM
a voice calling you backL
-
I was practically blindN
You appearing then hidingB
gave me my sight and heightenedO
it Thus some leave behindN
-
a trace Thus they make worldsP
Thus having done so at randomQ
wastefully they abandonR
their work to its whirlsP
-
Thus prey to speedsP
of light heat cold or darknessP
a sphere in space without markersP
spins and spinsP
