Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLIIMNOPQO RFBSTUVOIM

Twice I awoke this night and wentA
to the window The streetlamps wereB
a fragment of a sentence spoken in sleepC
leading to nothing like omission pointsD
affording me no comfort and no cheerE
I dreamt of you with child and nowF
having lived so many years apart from youG
experienced my guilt and my handsH
joyfully stroking your bellyI
found they were fumbling at my trousersJ
and the light switch Shuffling to the windowK
I realized I had left you there aloneL
in the dark in the dream where patientlyI
you waited and did not blame meI
when I returned for the unnaturalM
interruption For in the darkN
that which in the light has broken off lastsO
there we are married wedded we playP
the two backed beast and childrenQ
justify our nakednessO
On some future night you will againR
come to me tired thin nowF
and I shall see a son or daughterB
as yet unnamed this time I'llS
not hurry to the light switch norT
will I remove my hand because I've not the rightU
to leave you in that realm of silentV
shadows before the fence of daysO
falling into dependence from a realityI
containing me unattainableM
