Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCDEE

Mysterious Night When our first parent knewA
Thee from report divine and heard thy nameB
Did he not tremble for this lovely FrameB
This glorious canopy of Light and BlueA
Yet 'neath a curtain of translucent dewA
Bathed in the rays of the great setting FlameB
Hesperus with the Host of Heaven cameB
And lo Creation widened on Man's viewA
-
Who could have thought such darkness lay concealedC
Within thy beams O Sun or who could findD
Whilst flower and leaf and insect stood revealedC
That to such countless orbs thou mad'st us blindD
Why do we then shun Death with anxious strifeE
If Light can thus deceive wherefore not LifeE
