Did he not tremble for this lovely Frame | B |
This glorious canopy of Light and Blue | A |
Yet 'neath a curtain of translucent dew | A |
Bathed in the rays of the great setting Flame | B |
Hesperus with the Host of Heaven came | B |
And lo Creation widened on Man's view | A |
- | |
Who could have thought such darkness lay concealed | C |
Within thy beams O Sun or who could find | D |
Whilst flower and leaf and insect stood revealed | C |
That to such countless orbs thou mad'st us blind | D |
Why do we then shun Death with anxious strife | E |
If Light can thus deceive wherefore not Life | E |
