When Rising From The Bed Of Death Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GBHB IJKJ LMNM OPQP

When rising from the bed of deathA
O erwhelmed with guilt and fearB
I see my Maker face to faceC
O how shall I appearB
-
If yet while pardon may be foundD
And mercy may be soughtE
My heart with inward horror shrinksF
And trembles at the thoughtE
-
When Thou O Lord shalt stand disclosedG
In majesty severeB
And sit in judgment on my soulH
O how shall I appearB
-
But Thou hast told the troubled mindI
Who does her sins lamentJ
The timely tribute of her tearsK
Shall endless woe preventJ
-
Then see the sorrow of my heartL
Ere yet it be too lateM
And hear my Savior s dying groansN
To give those sorrows weightM
-
For never shall my soul despairO
Her pardon to procureP
Who knows Thine only Son has diedQ
To make her pardon sureP
