Down In A Valley As Alexis Trips Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDDDD

Down in a valley as Alexis tripsA
Daphne sat sweetly sleepingB
Soon as the wanton touch d her ruddy lipsA
She nicely falls aweepingB
The wag full softly lifts herC
And to and fro he sifts herC
But when nor sighs Ah nor kisses mov d her pityD
Nor sighs could move her pityD
Nor tears could move her pityD
With plaints he warbles forth this mournful dittyD
