The Shrouding Of The Duchess Of Malfi Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEE FFGGHH IIJJ

Hark Now everything is stillA
The screech owl and the whistler shrillA
Call upon our dame aloudB
And bid her quickly don her shroudB
-
Much you had of land and rentC
Your length in clay 's now competentD
A long war disturb'd your mindE
Here your perfect peace is sign'dE
-
Of what is 't fools make such vain keepingF
Sin their conception their birth weepingF
Their life a general mist of errorG
Their death a hideous storm of terrorG
Strew your hair with powders sweetH
Don clean linen bathe your feetH
-
And the foul fiend more to checkI
A crucifix let bless your neckI
'Tis now full tide 'tween night and dayJ
End your groan and come awayJ
