Hark, Now Everything Is Still Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEEFFGGHHIIJJ

HARK now everything is stillA
The screech owl and the whistler shrillA
Call upon our dame aloudB
And bid her quickly don her shroudB
Much you had of land and rentC
Your length in clay's now competentD
A long war disturbed your mindE
Here your perfect peace is signedE
Of what is't fools make such vain keepingF
Sin their conception their birth weepingF
Their life a general mist of errorG
Their death a hideous storm of terrorG
Strew your hair with powders sweetH
Don clean linen bathe your feetH
And the foul fiend more to checkI
A crucifix let bless your neckI
'Tis now full tide 'tween night and dayJ
End your groan and come awayJ
