Let Us Be Merry Before We Go Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBACDC EDADECDC

If sadly thinking with spirits sinkingA
Could more than drinking my cares composeB
A cure for sorrow from sighs I'd borrowC
And hope to morrow would end my woesB
But as in wailing there's nought availingA
And Death unfailing will strike the blowC
Then for that reason and for a seasonD
Let us be merry before we goC
-
To joy a stranger a wayworn rangerE
In every danger my course I've runD
Now hope all ending and death befriendingA
His last aid lending my cares are doneD
No more a rover or hapless loverE
My griefs are over my glass runs lowC
Then for that reason and for a seasonD
Let us be merry before we goC
