Rhyme Scheme: ABCBADDEEEFGGF HIFIHFFJJFKBBK

Ye flaming Powers and winged Warriours brightA
That erst with Musick and triumphant songB
First heard by happy watchful Shepherds earC
So sweetly sung your Joy the Clouds alongB
Through the soft silence of the list'ning nightA
Now mourn and if sad share with us to bearD
Your fiery essence can distill no tearD
Burn in your sighs and borrowE
Seas wept from our deep sorrowE
He who with all Heav'ns heraldry whileareE
Enter'd the world now bleeds to give us easeF
Alas how soon our sinG
Sore doth beginG
His Infancy to seaseF
-
O more exceeding love or law more justH
Just law indeed but more exceeding loveI
For we by rightfull doom remedilesF
Were lost in death till he that dwelt aboveI
High thron'd in secret bliss for us frail dustH
Emptied his glory ev'n to nakednesF
And that great Cov'nant which we still transgressF
Intirely satisfi'dJ
And the full wrath besideJ
Of vengeful Justice bore for our excessF
And seals obedience first with wounding smartK
This day but O ere longB
Huge pangs and strongB
Will pierce more neer his heartK
