Translations Of The Italian Poems Vi. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCEFF

Enamour'd artless young on foreign groundA
Uncertain whither from myself to flyB
To thee dear Lady with an humble sighB
Let me devote my heart which I have foundA
By certain proofs not few intrepid soundA
Good and addicted to conceptions highB
When tempests shake the world and fire the skyB
It rests in adamant self wrapt aroundA
As safe from envy and from outrage rudeC
From hopes and fears that vulgar minds abuseD
As fond of genius and fix'd fortitudeC
Of the resounding lyre and every MuseE
Weak you will find it in one only partF
Now pierc'd by Love's immedicable dartF
