To Mr. Cyriack Skinner Upon His Blindness Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACBCBCB

Cyriack this three years day these eys though clearA
To outward view of blemish or of spotB
Bereft of light thir seeing have forgotB
Nor to thir idle orbs doth sight appearA
Of Sun or Moon or Starre throughout the yearA
Or man or woman Yet I argue notB
Against heavns hand or will nor bate a jotB
Of heart or hope but still bear vp and steerA
Right onward What supports me dost thou askC
The conscience Friend to have lost them overply'dB
In libertyes defence my noble taskC
Of which all Europe talks from side to sideB
This thought might lead me through the world's vain maskC
Content though blind had I no better guideB
