Sonnets. Xviii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDBCDB

Cyriack whose Grandsire on the Royal BenchA
Of Brittish Themis with no mean applauseB
Pronounc't and in his volumes taught our LawesB
Which others at their Barr so often wrenchA
To day deep thoughts resolve with me to drenchA
In mirth that after no repenting drawesB
Let Euclid rest and Archimedes pauseB
And what the Swede intend and what the FrenchA
To measure life learn thou betimes and knowC
Toward solid good what leads the nearest wayD
For other things mild Heav'n a time ordainsB
And disapproves that care though wise in showC
That with superfluous burden loads the dayD
And when God sends a cheerful hour refrainsB
