AugA
Upon The Words Of Chush The Benjamite Against HimB
-
Lord my God to thee I flieC
Save me and secure me underD
Thy protection while I crieD
Least as a Lion and no wonderD
He hast to tear my Soul asunderD
Tearing and no rescue nighE
-
Lord my God if I have thoughtF
Or done this if wickednessG
Be in my hands if I have wroughtF
Ill to him that meant me peaceH
Or to him have render'd lessI
And fre'd my foe for naughtF
-
Let th'enemy pursue my soulC
And overtake it let him treadJ
My life down to the earth and roulC
In the dust my glory deadJ
In the dust and there out spreadJ
Lodge it with dishonour foulC
-
Rise Jehovah in thine ireD
Rouze thy self amidst the rageK
Of my foes that urge like fireD
And wake for me their furi' asswageK
Judgment here thou didst ingageK
And command which I desireD
-
So th' assemblies of each NationL
Will surround thee seeking rightM
Thence to thy glorious habitationL
Return on high and in their sightM
Jehovah judgeth most uprightM
All people from the worlds foundationL
-
Judge me Lord be judge in thisN
According to my righteousnessG
And the innocence which isO
Upon me cause at length to ceaseH
Of evil men the wickednessG
And their power that do amissN
-
But the just establish fastP
Since thou art the just God that triesQ
Hearts and reins On God is castP
My defence and in him liesQ
In him who both just and wiseQ
Saves th' upright of Heart at lastP
-
God is a just Judge and severeD
And God is every day offendedR
If th' unjust will not forbearD
His Sword he whets his Bow hath bendedS
Already and for him intendedR
The tools of death that waits him nearD
-
His arrows purposely made heT
For them that persecute BeholdU
He travels big with vanitieU
Trouble he hath conceav'd of oldU
As in a womb and from that mouldU
Hath at length brought forth a LieC
-
He dig'd a pit and delv'd it deepV
And fell into the pit he madeU
His mischief that due course doth keepV
Turns on his head and his ill tradeU
Of violence will undelay'dU
Fall on his crown with ruine steepV
-
Then will I Jehovah's praiseW
According to his justice raiseW
And sing the Name and DeitieU
Of Jehovah the most highC
