Psal. Lxxxvii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDEFGFGHIHIJBKB LILIMEMN

Among the holy Mountains highA
Is his foundation fastB
There Seated in his SanctuaryC
His Temple there is plac'tB
Sions fair Gates the Lord loves moreD
Then all the dwellings faireE
Of Jacobs Land though there be storeD
And all within his careE
City of God most glorious thingsF
Of thee abroad are spokeG
I mention Egypt where proud KingsF
Did our forefathers yokeG
I mention Babel to my friendsH
Philistia full of scornI
And Tyre with Ethiops utmost endsH
Lo this man there was bornI
But twise that praise shall in our earJ
Be said of Sion lastB
This and this man was born in herK
High God shall fix her fastB
The Lord shall write it in a ScrowleL
That ne're shall be out wornI
When he the Nations doth enrowleL
That this man there was bornI
Both they who sing and they who danceM
With sacred Songs are thereE
In thee fresh brooks and soft streams glanceM
And all my fountains clearN
