Sonnet Xii: On Leaving Some Friends At An Early Hour Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDACDA

Give me a golden pen and let me leanA
On heaped up flowers in regions clear and farB
Bring me a tablet whiter than a starB
Or hand of hymning angel when 'tis seenA
The silver strings of heavenly harp atweenA
And let there glide by many a pearly carB
Pink robes and wavy hair and diamond jarB
And half discovered wings and glances keenA
The while let music wander round my earsC
And as it reaches each delicious endingD
Let me write down a line of glorious toneA
And full of many wonders of the spheresC
For what a height my spirit is contendingD
'Tis not content so soon to be aloneA
