Solitude Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFFGGHHIJKKLL MM

There is in stillness oft a magic powerA
To calm the breast when struggling passions lowerA
Touch'd by its influence in the soul ariseB
Diviner feelings kindred with the skiesB
By this the Arab's kindling thoughts expandC
When circling skies inclose the desert sandC
For this the hermit seeks the thickest groveD
To catch th' inspiring glow of heavenly loveE
It is not solely in the freedom givenF
To purify and fix the heart on heavenF
There is a Spirit singing aye in airG
That lifts us high above all mortal careG
No mortal measure swells that mystic soundH
No mortal minstrel breathes such tones aroundH
The Angels' hymn the sovereign harmonyI
That guides the rolling orbs along the skyJ
And hence perchance the tales of saints who view'dK
And heard Angelic choirs in solitudeK
By most unheard because the earthly dinL
Of toil or mirth has charms their ears to winL
Alas for man he knows not of the blissM
The heaven that brightens such a life as thisM
