Forgiveness Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFFEGHGEHH

My heart was heavy for its trust had beenA
Abused its kindness answered with foul wrongB
So turning gloomily from my fellow menC
One summer Sabbath day I strolled amongD
The green mounds of the village burial placeE
Where pondering how all human love and hateF
Find one sad level and how soon or lateF
Wronged and wrongdoer each with meekened faceE
And cold hands folded over a still heartG
Pass the green threshold of our common graveH
Whither all footsteps tend whence none departG
Awed for myself and pitying my raceE
Our common sorrow like a mighty waveH
Swept all my pride away and trembling I forgaveH
