The Yew Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC CCDDEE CCFFAA

The moon gave no lightA
The clouds rode slowly over broad and whiteA
From the soft south westB
The wind that cannot restB
Soothed and then waked the darkness of the yewC
Until the tree was restless tooC
-
Of all the winds I knewC
I thought and how they muttered in the yewC
Or raved under the eavesD
Or nosed the fallen dry leavesD
Or with harsh voice holloa'd the orchard roundE
With snapped limbs littering the groundE
-
And I thought how the yewC
Between the window and the west his shadow threwC
Grave and immenseF
Darkening the dark past thought and senseF
And how the moon would make the darkness heavenly brightA
But the moon gave no lightA
