In That Dark Silent Hour Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFGHIJJ KKLLGGMM NNLOPPQE AAMMRRSG

In that dark silent hourA
When the wind wants powerA
And in the black heightB
The sky wants lightB
Stirless and blackC
In utter lackC
And not a soundD
Escapes from that untroubled roundD
-
To wake thenE
In the dark and ache thenE
Until the dark is goneF
Lonely yet not aloneG
Hearing another's breathH
All the quiet beneathI
Knowing one sleeps nearJ
That day held dearJ
-
And dreams held dear but nowK
In this sharp moment howK
Share the moment's sweetnessL
Forgo its completenessL
Nor be aloneG
Now the dark is grownG
Spiritual and deepM
More than in dreams and sleepM
-
O it is pain 'tis needN
That so will pleadN
For a little lonelinessL
If it be pain to missO
Loved touch look and lipP
CompanionshipP
Yet is verier painQ
Then thenE
-
In that dark silent hourA
When the wind wants powerA
And you near or far sleepM
And your released thoughts toward me creepM
While I imprisoned awakeR
Ache acheR
To be for oneS
Long little moment with myself aloneG
