Thee Sovereign God our grateful accents praiseA
We own thee Lord and bless thy wondrous waysA
To thee Eternal Father earth's whole frameB
With loudest trumpets sounds immortal fameB
Lord God of Hosts for thee the heavenly powersC
With sounding anthems fill the vaulted towersC
Thy Cherubims thee Holy Holy Holy cryD
Thrice Holy all the Seraphims replyD
And thrice returning echoes endless songs supplyD
Both heaven and earth thy majesty displayE
They owe their beauty to thy glorious rayE
Thy praises fill the loud apostles' quireF
The train of prophets in the song conspireG
Legions of martyrs in the chorus shineH
And vocal blood with vocal music joinI
By these thy church inspired by heavenly artJ
Around the world maintains a second partJ
And tunes her sweetest notes O God to theeK
The Father of unbounded majestyK
The Son adored co partner of thy seatL
And equal everlasting ParacleteL
Thou King of Glory Christ of the Most HighD
Thou co eternal filial DeityL
Thou who to save the world's impending doomM
Vouchsafst to dwell within a virgin's wombM
Old tyrant Death disarmed before thee flewN
The bolts of heaven and back the foldings drewN
To give access and make thy faithful wayE
From God's right hand thy filial beams displayE
Thou art to judge the living and the deadL
Then spare those souls for whom thy veins have bledL
O take us up amongst thy bless'd aboveO
To share with them thy everlasting loveO
Preserve O Lord thy people and enhanceP
Thy blessing on thine own inheritanceQ
For ever raise their hearts and rule their waysA
Each day we bless thee and proclaim thy praiseA
No age shall fail to celebrate thy nameB
No hour neglect thy everlasting fameB
Preserve our souls O Lord this day from illR
Have mercy on us Lord have mercy stillR
As we have hoped do thou reward our painS
We've hoped in thee let not our hope be vainS
