Birthright Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAB CDCDCD

Lord Rameses of Egypt sighedA
Because a summer evening passedB
And little Ariadne criedA
That summer fancy fell at lastB
To dust and young Verona diedA
When beauty's hour was overcastB
-
Theirs was the bitterness we knowC
Because the clouds of hawthorn keepD
So short a state and kisses goC
To tombs unfathomably deepD
While Rameses and RomeoC
And little Ariadne sleepD
