Holy Sonnet Xiii: What If This Present Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDEFAA

What if this present were the worlds last nightA
Marke in my heart O Soule where thou dost dwellB
The picture of Christ crucified and tellB
Whether that countenance can thee affrightA
Teares in his eyes quench the amazing lightA
Blood fills his frownes which from his pierc'd head fellB
And can that tongue adjudge thee unto hellB
Which pray'd forgiveness for his foes fierce spightA
No no but as in my idolatrieC
I said to all my profane mistressesD
Beauty of pitty foulnesse onely isE
A sign of rigour so I say to theeF
To wicked spirits are horrid shapes assign'dA
This beauteous forme assures a pitious mindeA
