Starlight Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEE FFGG AAHH IIJJ

Last night I lay in an open fieldA
And looked at the stars with lips sealedA
No noise moved the windless airB
And I looked at the stars with steady stareB
-
There were some that glittered and some that shoneC
With a soft and equal glow and oneD
That queened it over the sprinkled roundE
Swaying the host with silent soundE
-
Calm things I thought in your cavern blueF
I will learn and hold and master youF
I will yoke and scorn you as I canG
For the pride of my heart is the pride of a manG
-
Grass to my cheek in the dewy fieldA
I lay quite still with lips sealedA
And the pride of a man and his rigid gazeH
Stalked like swords on heaven's waysH
-
But through a sudden gate there stoleI
The Universe and spread in my soulI
Quick went my breath and quick my heartJ
And I looked at the stars with lips apartJ
