A Chant Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCB EFEF

Gently the petals fall as the tree gently swaysA
That has known many springs and many petals fallB
Year after year to strew the green deserted waysA
And the statue and the pond and the low broken wallB
-
Faded is the memory of old things doneC
Peace floats on the ruins of ancient festivalD
They lie and forget in the warmth of the sunC
And a sky silver blue arches over allB
-
O softly O tenderly the heart now stirsE
With desires faint and formless and seeking not I findF
Quiet thoughts that flash like azure kingfishersE
Across the luminous tranquil mirror of the mindF
