Rhyme Scheme: ABA CCC DDD EEE CCC

WHO first reform'd our Stage with justest LawesA
And was the first best Judge in his owne CauseB
Who when his Actors trembled for ApplauseA
-
Could with a noble Confidence preferreC
His owne by right to a whole TheaterC
From Principles which he knew could not erreC
-
Who to his FABLE did his Persons fittD
With all the Properties of Art and WittD
And above all that could bee Acted writtD
-
Who publique Follies did to covert driveE
Which hee againe could cunningly retriveE
Leaving them no ground to rest on and thriveE
-
Heere IONSON lies whom had I nam'd beforeC
In that one word alone I had paid moreC
Then can be now when plentie makes me pooreC
