Lines Upon Seeing A Beautiful Infant Sleeping On The Bosom Of Its Mother. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFH IJKL

Upon its native pillow dearA
The little slumb'rer finds reposeB
His fragrant breath eludes the earC
A zephyr passing o'er a roseB
-
Yet soon from that pure spot of restD
Love's little throne shalt thou be tornE
Time hovers o'er thy downy nestD
To crown thy baby brow with thornE
-
Ah thoughtless couldst thou now but seeF
On what a world thou soon must moveG
Or taste the cup prepar'd for theeF
Of grief lost hopes or widow'd loveH
-
Ne'er from that breast thou'd'st raise thine headI
But thou would'st breathe to Heav'n a pray'rJ
To let thee ere thy blossom fadeK
In one fond sigh exhale thee thereL
