Rhyme Scheme: ABBC DDDC EEEF GGGH IIIJ KKKJ LLLL MMML NNNO ABBO

Come friendly bombs and fall on SloughA
It isn't fit for humans nowB
There isn't grass to graze a cowB
Swarm over DeathC
-
Come bombs and blow to smithereensD
Those air conditioned bright canteensD
Tinned fruit tinned meat tinned milk tinned beansD
Tinned minds tinned breathC
-
Mess up the mess they call a townE
A house for ninety seven downE
And once a week a half a crownE
For twenty yearsF
-
And get that man with double chinG
Who'll always cheat and always winG
Who washes his repulsive skinG
In women's tearsH
-
And smash his desk of polished oakI
And smash his hands so used to strokeI
And stop his boring dirty jokeI
And make him yellJ
-
But spare the bald young clerks who addK
The profits of the stinking cadK
It's not their fault that they are madK
They've tasted HellJ
-
It's not their fault they do not knowL
The birdsong from the radioL
It's not their fault they often goL
To MaidenheadL
-
And talk of sport and makes of carsM
In various bogus Tudor barsM
And daren't look up and see the starsM
But belch insteadL
-
In labour saving homes with careN
Their wives frizz out peroxide hairN
And dry it in synthetic airN
And paint their nailsO
-
Come friendly bombs and fall on SloughA
To get it ready for the ploughB
The cabbages are coming nowB
The earth exhalesO
