Banking Coal Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEF GHAHIGJKLMNHEEGA

Whoever it was who brought the first wood and coalA
To start the Fire did his part wellB
Not all wood takes to fire from a matchC
Nor coal from wood before it s burned to charcoalA
The wood and coal in question caught a flameD
And flared up beautifully touching the airE
That takes a flame from anythingF
-
Somehow the fire was furnacedG
And then the time was ripe for some to sayH
Right banking of the furnace saves the coalA
I ve seen them set to work each in his wayH
Though all with shovels and with ashesI
Never resting till the fire seemed most deadG
Whereupon they d crawl in hooded night capsJ
Contentedly to bed Sometimes the fire left aloneK
Would die but like as not spiced tonguesL
Remaining by the hardest on till day would flicker upM
Never strong to anyone who cared to rake for themN
But roaring fires never have been made that wayH
I d like to tell those folks that one grand flareE
Transferred to memory tissues of the airE
Is worth a like or for dull minds that turn in goldG
All money ever saved by banking coalA
