With A Diamond Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGHI JKJK

While Time a grim old lion gnawing layA
And mumbled with his teeth yon regal tombB
Like some immortal tear undimmed for ayeC
This gem was dropped among the dust of doomB
-
Dropped haply by a sad forgotten queenD
A tear to outlast name and fame and tongueE
Her other tears and ours all tears terreneD
For great new griefs to be hereafter sungE
-
Take it a goddess might have wept such tearsF
Or Dame Electra changed into a starG
That waxed so dim because her children's yearsH
In leaguered Troy were bitter through long warI
-
Not till the end to end grow dull or wasteJ
Ah what a little while the light we shareK
Hand after hand shall yet with this be gracedJ
Signing the Will that leaves it to an heirK
