Thou Wert Far Off And In The Sight Of Heaven. (hymn) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBC DEDE FGFG HIHI

And fell on his neck and kissed himA
-
Thou wert far off and in the sight of heavenB
Dead And thy Father would not this should beC
And now thou livest it is all forgivenB
Think on it O my soul He kiss d theeC
-
What now are gold and gear thou canst affordD
To cast them from thee at His sacred callE
As Mary when she met her living LordD
The burial spice she had prepared let fallE
-
O what is death to life One dead could wellF
Afford to waste his shroud if he might wakeG
Thou canst afford to waste the world and sellF
Thy footing in it for the new world's sakeG
-
What is the world it is a waiting placeH
Where men put on their robes for that aboveI
What is the new world 'tis a Father's faceH
Beholden of His sons the face of loveI
