Thou Hast Been Alway Good To Me. (hymn) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BABA CDCD EFGF HIHI

He doeth all things wellA
-
Thou hast been alway good to me and mineB
Since our first father by transgression fellA
Through all Thy sorest judgments love doth shineB
Lord of a truth Thou doest all things wellA
-
Thou didst the food of immortalityC
Compass with flame lest he thereto should winD
But what his doom yet eating of that treeC
Had been immortal life of shame and sinD
-
I would not last immortal in such wiseE
Desir d death not life is now my songF
Through death shall I go back to ParadiseG
And sin no more Sweet death tarry not longF
-
One did prevail that clos d gate to unsealH
Where yet th' immortalizing tree doth growI
He shall there meet us and once more revealH
The fruit of life where crime is not nor woeI
